TMC releases 'sting' video of Humayun Kabir's ₹1000 crore deal with BJP to remove Mamata 'at any cost' | Watch

A major political controversy has erupted in West Bengal ahead of elections after the All India Trinamool Congress released a purported sting operation video alleging that Humayun Kabir struck a massive financial and political deal with the Bharatiya Janata Party to defeat Mamata Banerjee. The party is currently addressing a press conference on the issue, claiming the video exposes a coordinated strategy to influence voters.

According to the video released by the party, Humayun Kabir is allegedly heard claiming that he is determined to remove Mamata Banerjee “at any cost” and has been in contact with senior BJP leaders as well as the Prime Minister’s Office. The video further suggests that he discussed plans to shift Muslim votes away from the Trinamool Congress, which he believed would indirectly consolidate Hindu votes in favour of the BJP.

The conversation in the video also reportedly includes references to senior leaders such as Suvendu Adhikari, Mohan Yadav, and Himanta Biswa Sarma. Humayun Kabir is allegedly heard claiming that he is in regular contact with them and that he was assured political backing, including a promise of a key leadership position if he succeeds in influencing a significant number of seats.

A key aspect of the alleged sting revolves around financial claims, where Humayun Kabir is purportedly heard stating that influencing voters across constituencies would require approximately ₹3–4 crore per seat, amounting to nearly ₹1000 crore overall. He also claims to have devised a strategy to impact voting patterns in Muslim-dominated constituencies and position himself as a decisive factor in the election outcome.

The Trinamool Congress has alleged that the video confirms its long-standing claims that Humayun Kabir was acting to mislead minority voters for political and financial gain. However, the authenticity of the video has not been independently verified, and no official response has yet been made by the individuals named. The development has intensified the political atmosphere in the state just days before polling.
